Absolutely! The relationship between psychiatrists, psychologists (Ph.D.s, Psy.D.s) and other mental health practitioners (LCSWs, MSWs, LCPCs) is both friendly and collaborative. Often, patients are referred who are already in treatment, and their therapist (or the patient) requests a medication evaluation by a psychiatrist. I welcome these referrals and, in general, welcome any opportunity to collaborate with your current therapist in attending to your emotional health. You will be asked to sign a
Consent For Release Of Information when referred to my clinic, so that I will be able to contact your primary therapist to discuss your case.
